GREEN DOLPHIN STREET

"Lover, one lovely day,
Love came, planning to stay;
Green Dolphin Street supplied the setting,
The setting for nights beyond forgetting..."

Green Dolphin Street (1947) is a historic drama film starring Lana Turner that was based on the historical novel Green Dolphin Country (1944) by Elizabeth Goudge. The title song "Green Dolphin Street" (sometimes given as "On Green Dolphin Street") is a song written for the film by Bronislaw Kaper and Ned Washington. This song has become a jazz standard.

Go Ahead --Take a Look at My Soul

A prolonged admiring glance from a woman usually causes quite a stir in a guy's mind.  Looking at this girl with her "come-hither" expression indicates she means business.  She definitely likes what she sees, and knows what she wants.

I am selling this fine art print.  It is number 1 of 50.   You can see the full presentation here:

Here is Harry Connick Jr.'s rendition of "It had to be you". You can tell he's baring his soul -- but that's what love is all about.

Fire Under My Skin

This is a Fine Art print taken from my original painting.  This black haired beauty has something on her mind.   She's thinking of him and you can bet he is filled with her.  Frank Sinatra has a rendition of this jazz classic "I've Got You Under My Skin".  Have you ever felt that chemical rush that is like a thin layer of fire?  It blazes under your skin.  I was astonished the first time I felt that.

I'm selling this signed fine art print on http://www.etsy.com/shop/MoxyFoxDesigns.  It ships free to US buyers.

Valentine's Cozy Wool Sweaters

Now that winter is upon us and Valentine's Day is just around the corner, you've got to get your beautiful red sweaters washed and ready to go.  This is a Fine Art Print I created from a photo.  I took it after I had hand washed my red sweaters and laid them on the floor to dry.

This can be a very quick process.  Sweaters don't have to stay in the soapy water for more than 20 minutes, and if you don't want to invest in a drying rack they can be easily dried on the floor.

A Flapper Lived Here

This fine art print is from my original acrylic abstract painting of a Chicago house at 6440 Ridge Avenue during the early twentieth century. Having recently viewed the PBS documentary series on Chicago, I am fascinated by the history. My Irish grandmother grew up in Chicago during this time. I like to think she could have seen this house.

The video gives an interesting and jazzy look at women of that era.

Complicated? You Bet!

Every man will say women are so complicated.  Okay, so we use our brains in different ways than men do.  We don't look like men -- so what did you expect?

Here's a cool video of Pomplamosse to demonstrate the theory of complication:

The Blond Tomboy

The kids at East Denver High chose my mother as the prettiest girl in school.  She was a tomboy and regularly chastised by her proper father.  "You'll never find a husband by challenging the boys to climb trees faster than you can."  However, her marriage to my father lasted 57 years.  He called her "my princess".  Here they are after their wedding.  When I drew this portrait, I must have been thinking of her.

I love Harry Connick Jr.'s rendition of "The Very Thought of You".
